SDD Maintenance - Weekly Health Inspection
It is important that weekly Inspections are completed so that machine hardware remains in good working order and the SDD software is up to date. We advise that following hardware and software inspections are made each week;
- Inspect SDD Hardware and leads for damage. Any damage found needs to be investigated and corrected.
- Inspect the Vehicle Communication Interface (VCI) Device and leads for damage. Any damage found must be investigated and corrected.
- Your installed version of SDD must be at the latest level, see instructions on how to do this below. If an update is needed download the latest version of Install Tool (SDD) from the TOPIx Links Page .

- This takes you the latest SDD Software update information which includes updates and Installation notes, new features, improvements, bug fixes, and Service Actions and Bulletins.
If an update is needed download the latest version of Install Tool (SDD) from the TOPIx Links Page.
How to upload New or Updated Files from TOPIx to SDD
SDD automatically identifies if any new or replacement files are required while you are running an application. If you are connected to a wireless network, a software management pop up will list the files that are required to be downloaded for the application you are running.
To update the files complete the following steps;
- From SDD select Manual VIN Read and then Combined As-built and Calibration File Update.
- Wait for the Software Management Wizard pop up, then select Next.
- Wait for the procedure to complete while the File Lists download and are being verified.
- When complete, trigger SDD to search for missing files by selecting the tick box Select all vehicles, then Next.
- When the search is complete, the number of missing files will be displayed.
- If NO (missing files) is displayed, select Cancel to end the update. Alternatively, you can select Next to run another search.
- Where missing files are displayed, select Next, to start a File Download of these files.
-
NOTE: Wait for the files to download DO NOT USE SDD while this is happening.
- When completed – details of the download are displayed. If a file fails to download select Retry.
- Select Finish when complete.
