Historic NIT View and Compare (G4667918)

From September 2023 a feature is available within TOPIx to allow Network Integrity Test (NIT) collected data to be viewed and compared with historic NIT information.

When comparing data from two completed NITs, differences between them will be highlighted in red, showing where:

  • Module hardware has been changed
  • Module software has been changed
  • DTCs that are now present

Key Features

All data collected by the NIT can be viewed, including:

  • Module communication status
  • Module software part numbers
  • Module hardware part numbers
  • Module Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) logged and their status

How to Use Historic NIT View and Compare

You can use the Historic NIT view to review previously collected module data, including part numbers and Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC). This feature also allows you to compare two NIT side by side and filter the view to show only modules with active DTC, making it easier to identify issues.

  1. Select the Diagnostics tab at the top of the page.
  2. In the right-hand pane labeled Applications and Trouble Shooting, select History.
  3. Select a previously completed NIT. If it is not listed, select View All History to see the full list.
  4. From the Result column, select the Vehicle Model to open the NIT.
  5. All modules will be displayed on the left, with their communication status shown.
  6. Select a module to expand and view its data.
  7. To compare with another NIT, select Compare in the top-right corner.
  8. Select a previous NIT from the drop-down. If it is not listed, return to View All History, select the desired NIT, and try again.
  9. Two panes will appear: the original NIT on the left and the comparison on the right.
  10. Modules with differences will be outlined in red. Select a red-outlined module to view the differences.
  11. Only the changed values will be highlighted in red.
  12. To close the comparison, select the ‘X’ in the top-right corner.

Filtering DTC in the Historic NIT View

You can review previous NIT results to view all module part numbers and any DTC recorded during the test. A toggle is available in the NIT results view that allows you to filter the list by hiding modules without DTC. This makes it easier to focus on modules that require attention.
